How it all started…

In 1981 my dad, Dan Shoemaker, made the leap from beef cattle to bison with his first purchase of 3 bison. I transitioned into ownership during college and took full control and responsibility in 2013. My dad still works on the farm and ranch today doing what he loves. I married my beautiful wife Kathryn in 2015, and we have 3 amazing kids, Maci, Jake and Lexi. As a third generation Idahoan, farmer, and rancher, our ranch takes pride providing high quality bison to local restaurants and retail stores. At Shoemaker Bison Ranch our top priority is producing all natural, healthy, lean, high quality USDA inspected meat. The bison are raised on the family ranch and are fed high quality grain that we grow and harvest here in New Plymouth. We also take great pride raising high quality breeding stock with genetics from: Silver Creek Bison, Snyder land, Browns Bison, GTSS and the WBA show and sale.
